2Kings 2-19-22
The case for our surrounding is no doubt concerning but often we are not deeply aware and burdened once we have been lifted in a redemptive way, by the gospel. The farther up or away, we are lifted in God the less we become aware of the collective captivity we suffer. “We, often are like, well I didn’t go school or university but God has blessed me, so I praise God”. Also the leaders often around us find a political or good and excellent professional position- a good paying job-family is catered for, a car, a house, a nice school for the children and some connections and we are happy. We have opportunities to go to Europe or America and we forget the depth of collective captivity we are in! There is often an absence of a larger frame of mind, like Jesus who did not sin but died for the sins of the world. Selah! Curses are legal entities- being, creature, individual, organism, life form- a thing with distinct and independent existence- Prov. 26:2. We need to pray in Africa and break the following curses.
- We find that fragmented personalities results in fragmented cities-land use is fragmented…this is a curse.
- Poverty –a curse-leads to a mindset of daily survival because of absence of specialized talent and stealing.
- Weak institutions and regulations are due to weak characters occupying positions of authority-moral bankruptcy –this is a curse
- Limitations in economic and financial ability-Prov. 24:3-4 –wisdom; understanding and revelations is basis of building-Prov.9:1 wisdom (Jesus) insures foundations; There are 7 pillars to build a family; Nation; Ministry; Business; Church etc. :-The King, The Throne, Foundations-(altars, gates, covenants); Scepter;-the kind of authority-quality released- Ps125:3-Scepter(rod) on our leaders determine how they govern. Elders –even God has 24 elders, Messengers-visible or invisible; Subjects.
- Worker productivity is very low in Africa-leads to low investment…poor income capacity… curse
- Low wages -higher returns to companies used for corruption, divorce and frivolous living-curse
- In Africa we spend 75 % on food and other living cosst and have 25% to invest but it is a reverse in advanced countries.
- Many people in some cities, cannot afford to get to where the jobs or the church they want to attend exists…..because the bus system is not cost-efficient, have low-road factor or passenger capacity-leading to trekking long distances in 2017-curse.
- Cities in Africa are costly for households, workers, and businesses. Because food and building costs are high, families can hardly remain healthy or afford decent housing. Because commuting by vehicle is not only slow but expensive, workers find it hard to take and keep jobs that match their skills. And the need for higher wages to pay higher living costs makes firms less productive and competitive, keeping them out of tradable sectors. As a result, African cities are avoided by potential regional and global investors and trading partners. It is a curse when good things cannot come to your door.
- Non-tradable goods include such items as electricity, water supply, all public services, hotel accommodation, real estate, construction, local transportation; goods with very high transportation costs such as gravel; and commodities produced to meet special customs or conditions of the country. We pray that intercessors will take note and preachers.
- Most countries are “closed to business” and “out of service” technically because we are not involved in what is called “tradable jobs-
- Tradable jobs can be performed by individuals outside a country: manufacturing, consulting, engineering, finance. Non-tradable jobs can realistically only be performed by domestic workforce: government, health care, hospitality, food service, education, retail, and construction. This is because companies are not able to compete because of high living costs.
- In Ibadan in 2000, researchers found that 83 percent of homes violated city zoning rules (Arimah and Adeagbo 2000).
- “Cities that continue on inefficient development paths are growing, but in a counterproductive direction. Their physical structures and infrastructure will not keep up with their rising population. As they continue to amass junk capital — while passing up opportunities for complementary investments that will never come again — they will sink deeper into the low development trap. And they might not dig themselves out.” These are collective curses we are all in, the church is called to be the light on the hill.
Prov. 26:2-Curses are like birds darting around looking for a landing platform. It cannot land until it finds a legal reason or case then it would land. If it can find a legal right -(ground) it will land. It will bring destruction to that place, family or Nation or state etc.- limitations, restrictions and hindrances and delay to destiny fulfilment.
A Curse is what puts limit on something that God has not limited. Dt 28 :25
A curse does not stop until someone stops it. It continues to operate ceaselessly like cancer.
2 King 2:19-22- the people complained about bereavement of children. children dying before their time. The city was under a curse such that parents were losing their children pre-maturely, so they didn’t know what to do about it. Elisa was not dealing with water that tasted poorly. Joshua cursed this city 400 years ago, then a man rebuilt the place.
The City is mourning because of children’s bereavement . Someone needs to stop this, if not generations will perish. The enemy has used this as a means of destroying a city. So that, that city will be hindered from fulfilling her destiny.
We note that ministers and Christians who have been authorized bless can misuse their authority and their word can be a curse instead of a blessing- 1Cor.1:24; 10:8; 13:10. The curse came from Joshua over Jericho. Preachers can also use their authorities to curse their city or speak evil of her. It is the responsibility of the church to bring blessing over the city. Satan will say the one whom you gave spiritual authority, has spoken evil of this place so I have the right to bring a curse on the city.
If you speak evil of someone who is under your authority, you allow the devil to bring evil on the person.
How do we undo curses…we are called to undo curses…..Bless and curse not. How do curses penetrate. Iniquity is lawlessness in our bloodline. Satan uses that as the bases to bring a curse on the land or on a family. 2 Sam. 21:1- there was famine for 3 years continually in the land and David found out it was the cause for the famine rooted in the breaking of a covenant and dishonoring the Lord in Saul through improper burial of King Saul. Iniquity grants Satan a legal right to afflict someone with present day afflictions because of lawlessness in the bloodline.
After 3 years he finally realized that there is a spiritual problem here. David found out. Deal with the broken covenant that happened 70 years before. In our case no one is dying (as the Giboenites demanded) because Jesus died and we need to repent so that Satan cannot presently “land a curse against us” so that we can be free.
David dealt with the legal issue that the Gibeonites brought against the family of Saul. Israel was free to be fruitful again. SELAH!!!!
We must deal with the iniquity in the history of a region and remit the sin and close the door against the curse operating. Same in the family.
The church must get into heaven’s court to deal with the legal issues-prosperity being an issue, children are dying, an un-fruitful situation; divorce is rampant ; untimely death issues etc.
There has been a verdict delivered when Jesus died…It is finished…However a verdict that is NOT executed is not valid yet. Not body gets save until there is a preacher and there no preacher if we are not sent. So it is not automatic. We have been anointed to execute the verdict.
People are still dying in the body of Christ because we have not put it to work. Rev.22:3 there is a time coming when curses will no longer be operative. We must work at this time, so that cities can be removed from curses.
Ezek..18:1-4, 30- “this is not my intension not allow the curse but repent lest iniquity become your ruin.” Undo the history. Limitations must be removed from our lives and others.
2 King 2:19-
How do we dissolve the curses? They city appealed to Elisha saying, “sit please. Look into this matter”
- 2 KING 2:21 Get to the source of the curse. Discern by the Spirit. Spiritual mapping. Get the move of God to remove the curse from the land.
- Receive and release a new anointing -Give me a new cruse. Release e a breakout anointing—! Sam 5:19-25. Things have to reset for God to move.
- Bring salt….a] judgement-Sodom and Gomorah..pillar of salt; land became unfruitful. judgement on principality and powers so the Lord can move. Paul judged the sorcerer. Releasing judgement…Every activity of covenant included salt. Every sacrifice was to be salted with salt.4. 4. He made apostolic /prophetic decrees… He spoke as if God were there. You go cast out devils from your seat of Government…I have healed these waters. let the curses be lifted. Let this begin.
- Repentance of the sins of our fathers and spiritual fathers causing delays… whatever is stopping God working is not a timing issue. Curses are operating. Take away the cause….and the curse will be dissolved…Amen.
