FESTIVAL OF PURIM: This year’s festival of Purim is March 11 – 12.
- The jolly festival of Purim is celebrated every year on the 14th of the Hebrew month of Adar (late winter/early spring). It commemorates the salvation of the Jewish people in ancient Persia from Haman’s plot “to destroy, kill and annihilate all the Jews, young and old, infants and women, in a single day,” as recorded in the book of Esther.
- Purim means “lots” in ancient Persian. The holiday was thus named since Haman had thrown lots to determine when he would carry out his diabolical scheme.
- Do a thorough search of your life and family for the application of the scriptures the Holy Spirit has drawn you to, and fervently pray the specific leading of the Holy Spirit for possible deliverance and triumph over the enemy’s schemes for your life and family.
