In Ephesians 1:3-6 Paul expresses what Christ has done for us that enables us to become part of His family. He starts out in verse 4 by declaring that we are chosen and then we are made holy, we are without blame, we are adopted into God’s family and we are accepted. The single thing we are asked to do in this process is to believe and embrace the nine sonship realities God has given. If we can accept these gifts as they are outlined in Ephesians, we can participate as active members of God’s family equal to those who literally walked with Him in Scripture. This is a growth process that every believer can walk through which is like gardening. The seed is the Word, and our hearts are the soil. Declaring and believing the Word is planting the seed in our hearts. This is a process we have to actively give our attention to. Anyone who grew up on a farm can testify—farming is hard work but potentially rewarding at harvest time. Patience and diligence are required for farming, watering and weeding. To do this and see fruit and growth takes commitment and resolve applied over time! Maturing fully in Christ is a life-time pursuit!
These Nine realities include:
- We are chosen,
- Made holy,
- Without blame,
- Adopted,
- Accepted,
- Redeemed,
- Forgiven,
- with an Inheritance,
- Sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit
Pray that each of these 9 gifts will manifest fully in your life this year.
- This is the second month of the Gregorian year. The number 2 represents “second chance”.
- Pray that in this season, if you had not been responsive to His bidding in the past, the Lord will grant you a second chance in order to walk into the fullness of His calling for your life. Pray this for as many who have rejected their season of trial in the Body of Christ.
- The number 2 also represents “division or difference.”
- Pray that there will be a difference between the righteous and the unrighteous in every gate of society as the Lord begins to bring full expression of the words He spoke concerning changing the face of the continent of Africa to a shine. May those who have walked in obedience to this word shine like the sun in its full strength. (Judges 5:31).
