SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 14

In Ephesians 1:7 we saw sonship gift number six before so we would receive it and walk in this gift. Ephesians 1:7 says, “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins according to the riches of His grace…” The Greek word for redemption is ap-ol-oo-too-sis, and it means to liberate through a ransom or to pay a ransom price and to set free through the payment of a price. That price, as we know, is the matchless Blood of Jesus. When He made us accepted the very next thing He did was He redeemed all of our failures. He bought us out from the penalty of all of our failures and the price with which He did that was the blood of Christ. All of our failures are now redeemed through the blood of Christ. No more failure! It is in the sea of forgetfulness, gone and washed away. It is gone, it is over, it is done! “Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, Whom the Lord has redeemed from the hand of the enemy.” (Psalm 107:2) Redeeming the past is a manifestation of covenant mercy!

  • The Valentine or V Day which is celebrated on February 14 is a platform for promoting very deep levels of sexual immorality, drug abuse and the wildest self-indulgent activities. The Carnival gives the last opportunity for revelry and self-indulgence in food, drink, music and sex, after which the “Christians” put up an act of penance during Lent! They thereby express high levels of hypocrisy to the faith.
  • Ask the Lord to change your mind and your interests concerning those days, especially if they hold so much meaning to you. (Acts 3:19; 1 Co 12:10b)
  • Sex is a blood-covenantal act, involving exchange of DNA, so these festivals promote illegitimate sexual covenants that become illegal sexual evil foundations for any participant. Pray for all men especially those who love such festivities that they will know the truth about these festivals and let the truth of God’s word set them free. (1 Tim 2:1; 1 Co 3:11; Joh 8:32).
