Scripture: Matthew 8:23-27
Verses 23-27 say, “Now when He got into a boat, His disciples followed Him. And suddenly a great tempest arose on the V sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves. But He was asleep. Then His disciples came to Him and awoke Him, saying, \’Lord, save us! We are perishing!\’ But He said to them, \’Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?\’ Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. So the men marveled, saying, \’Who can this be, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?\’” These verses describe Jesus stilling the storm as a routine, spontaneous ordinary life event. God\’s power is for the humble! He was under assignment. He carried God\’s anointing which meant opposition that would derail the assignment had to be resisted with the full authority of the Family Throne backing Him up and available because He was also the Son of God. The question, “Who can this be that even the winds and sea obey Him?” is still a question that God expects us to answer probably in the same way! Do we expect the fullness of the Family Throne to back us up? We should, because our purpose is to demonstrate that God rules over demons in the affairs of men! Faith comes by hearing God\’s Word and once we have heard it we are obligated to act on it! Through relationship with the Father, Jesus walked out His calling by obedience and sacrifice. He was at each and every given moment dependent on the Father\’s leading and direction. Will we choose the path of Sonship through serving others? Will we choose the path of obedience and fulfill our purpose by demonstrating that principalities and powers have to bow to the authority of God\’s Word even in the wind and waves? God\’s dominion demands demonstration!
•Birmingham is the manufacturing heart of England.
After World War II, a severe labour shortage in the
city\’s factories prompted the government to invite
unskilled workers from South Asia.

•In 1966, around 50,000 displaced rural farmers
immigrated from Mirpur, Pakistan. The city\’s Muslim
community has since expanded to make up around
25% of its population. They are a mixture of second
and third generation South Asians, as well as many
migrants and refugees from Africa, the Middle East
and Asia.
•Pray that social barriers between communities in
Birmingham will fall. Some areas have become
ethnic and religious enclaves. (Matthew 5:14-15)
Birmingham is a large city, with issues common to
large cities. Pray that drug trafficking, knife crime and
gang violence will end.
•Pray for the Muslims in N\’Djaména, Chad: that they
will find abundant life in Jesus. (John 10:9 -11).
•The late Chadian president Idriss Déby died after
sustaining injuries on the front lines against rebels,
the army said.
•The late Chadian President\’s funeral ceremony is
slated for April 23, at the Place de la Nation in the
capital.
•Pray for the children attending Christian schools in
Chad: that through the witness of their teachers and
the Bible stories they will come to follow Jesus.
(Matthew 19:13-14)
•Pray for Muslim background believers: that they will
be faithful in following Jesus and experience His
protection. (Hebrews 10:23)
