Whatever Happened to Joseph was that He might be a Certified Witness!

 Genesis 37:3-10

Over and over again, the book of Genesis gives us story after story of redemption. The Bible is the story of a Redeemer, Jesus Christ. All throughout Scripture, there is nobody that does not need redemption. And we see God move heaven and earth to give us the very redemption that we need. In Genesis 37:3- 10, we find someone who is called to be a redeemer like Moses and Jesus. Verse 3 says, “Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age. Also he made him a tunic of many colors.” Then Joseph beganto dream dreams of exaltation. Because Joseph was the favorite son, his brothers hated him. When he started dreamingof exaltation, they hated him even more. In verse 8 it says, “And his brothers said to him, ‘Shall you indeed reign over us? Or shall you indeed have dominion over us?’ So they hated him even more for his dreams and for his words. Then he dreamed still another dream and told it to his brothers, and said, ‘Look, I have dreamed another dream. And this time, the sun, the moon, and the eleven stars bowed down to me.’ So he told it to his father and his brothers; and his father rebuked him and said to him, ‘What is this dream that you have dreamed? Shall your mother and I and your brothers indeed come to bow down to the earth before you?’” What is this about? It is about character development so that we qualify to be a redeemer with the right attitude. Somebody had to save God\’s Family in the midst of a worldwide famine. God chose Joseph. So how much tribulation did Joseph have to endure to become qualified to handle that assignment? That is a major question that you and I have to wrestle with. The degree to which we are called to be redeemers to our generation will determine the amount of adversity we encounter. This preparational call shapes our lives just as it shaped Joseph’s and Christ’s. But how many are willing to pay that price and walk it out? I can’t find where God asked Joseph if he was willing. Christ learned obedience through what He suffered – and we have to do the same! We should not be surprised or dismayed if our path follows His pattern. Such seasons have a redemptive purpose!

  • The fires sweeping the US time and time again are a spiritual reminder of the “burnt up ground” of revival that the nation is. The US has experienced various Holy Spirit revivals in the past, and the ground is now burnt up. For a Holy Spirit revival to spread through the land, God requires people who will “come out from among them” and separate themselves unto Him by sacrificial covenant lifestyles, to be equipped and then sent back into the land with the fire from Jehovah to bring a true end-time revival.
  • Pray that there shall be found matured sons in the land who will have such a passion for the Father’s estate, and will be willing to come out from the comfort or suffering they are in, and seek the Lord for the strategy to turn their nation back on redemptive destiny as the city on the hill that shines the light of liberty in Christ for other nations to follow Ezekiel 22:30a.
  • Proclaim Psalm 97 as a praise to Jehovah as He arises over the US fire prone areas and discomfits His enemies with the fire from His presence
