Ruth willingly chose to place herself in the mercy of the God

Ruth 3:10-18

In Ruth 3:10-18 Boaz revealed his heart, “Then he said, ‘Blessed are you of the Lord, my daughter? For you have shown more kindness at the end than at the beginning, In that you did not go after young men, whether poor or rich. And now, my daughter, do not fear. I will do for you all that you request, for all the people of the town know that you are a virtuous woman. Now it is true that I am a close relative, however, there is a relative closer than I. Stay this night, and in the morning, it shall be that if he will perform the duty of a close relative for you-good; let him do it. But if he does not want to perform the duty for you, than I will perform the duty for you, as the Lord lives! Lie down until morning.’ So, she lay at his feet until morning, and she arose before one could recognize another. Then he said, ‘Do not let it be known that the woman came to the threshing floor…’ When she returned with the measures of barley Naomi said, “Sit still, my daughter, until you know how the matter will turn out; for the man will not rest until he has concluded the matter this day.” What an amazing story of redemption was unfolding in Ruth’s life as she chose to turn her back on her family and all that was familiar. She had to choose to reject the gods of the Moabites and their ways. She chose the God of Israel, and she chose the harder path, the unfamiliar path. Ruth willingly chose to place herself in the mercy of the God. For Ruth God’s shelter and destiny were on the horizon and it was initiated through her humble willing heart. Will we choose God’s shelter and destiny for ourselves? Will we venture into the unfamiliar if that is what God requires?

  • Praise God for the last day of the third quarter of this year. Praise Him for protection, provision, health, and strength.
  • Thank Him because He is good, always good ever faithful ever true. His mercy endureth forever.
  • Praise Him because He has said of you:
    •  There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
    •  For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
    • They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
    • Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
    • Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
  • PRAISE YE THE LORD. ALLELUIA!
