Lesson! Yielding to Satan allows him access through us in the earth and impedes God’s purpose.
Scripture: Romans 8:12-14
Romans 8 says, “Therefore, brethren, we are debtors—not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.” Selfish ambition comes from another spirit. Yielding to that is a way for satan to get his will established in the earth and impede God’s purpose. If we are going to be instruments to establish God’s will on the earth, the first thing we must deal with and shed is selfish ambition. We must be intentional and deliberate to submit our will under the leadership and authority of our Father, through the Holy Spirit. What is authored by the Holy Spirit becomes that which is eternal fruit. “For as many as are lead by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God.” Selfish motivations go under our feet!
- God, the husbandman is waiting for the fruit of the Spirit to manifest in your life.
- Choose one fruit of the Spirit which you fall short of e.g. self control. Meditate on what it means to have that fruit manifest in your life. Examine areas of your life where this fruit is lacking with regard to others.
- Pray for grace to help you in times when you need to manifest that fruit.
- Pray the same for the church and nation; that certain fruit that has been lacking will begin to manifest (Ps 121:1;Gal 5:22-25; ).
