The Holy Spirit Engages To Something Bigger.” How Much Bigger?
Scripture: Ephesians 1:13-14
Verses 13-14 state, “In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee/ar-hrab-ohn of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.” Finally, the Theological Dictionary of the New Testament, commonly known as Kittle, says of ar-hrab-ohn, “The word is a commercial term; it signifies a pledge which is later returned, a deposit, which pays part of a total debt and gives it a legal claim. Earnest money ratifying a contract. It also implies an act which engages to something bigger.” How much bigger? What are the big things in our life which we have trouble getting over? Does this mean the Holy Spirit knows our weakest point and how to take us straight through it? Yes, He does! Has He guaranteed to do it? Yes, He has guaranteed to take us to the very thing that is the stronghold in our lives and to show us how to overcome it and redeem it so the weakness is turned to a cause to praise Him. The Holy Spirit is our personal Director for God\’s path of redemption! Pray in the Spirit!

- Remember the heart of the king is in the hand of the Lord. God’s hand is on His Body the church. (Proverbs 21:1).
