Priority Of Priesthood Activity Was Beyond the Veil
Scripture: Leviticus 16:11-13
We need to know the pattern of the priesthood, so we know what the first priority of their
activity was beyond the veil. In the New Testament language, priesthood activity is
essentially in the heavenly realm. We find the answer in Leviticus 16:11-13. Verses 12 and
13 say, “Then he shall take a censer full of burning coals of fire from the altar before the
Lord, with his hands full of sweet incense beaten fine, and bring it inside the veil. And he
shall put the incense on the fire before the Lord, that the cloud of incense may cover the
mercy seat that is on the Testimony, lest he die.” How interesting to realize the very first
activity done inside the holy of holies was activating the mercy seat. That activation came
through praise and worship of which the incense is a type. Our issue as priests is to not
proclaim, necessarily, the judgment of God on our country, but it is like Moses to go before
the Lord, activate His mercy and then bring forth a deliverance! Our negotiation is first of all
to secure mercy in the heavenly realm and establishes it here on the earth.
Prayer
To release Heaven on earth, we must follow the leading of God just like Jesus did
(see John 5:19). He only did what He saw His Father doing in heavenly places.
He took direction from the top. Pray: “Kingdom come”
Proclaim a blessing over the work of your hands from this time forth. Make
this a constant proclamation over your life and that of kingdom citizens in your
territory Deut. 2.7, 16.15, 24.19, 30.9 Psa. 126:6.
