Favour Brought Victory. To Think Anything Else Is to Start Down A Dangerous Path Of Self-Destruction

Scripture: Psalm 44:1-3

“We have heard with our ears, O God, Our fathers have told us, What deeds You did in their days, In days of old: How You drove out the nations with Your hand, But them You planted; How You afflicted the peoples, and cast them out. For they did not gain possession of the land by their own sword, Nor did their own arm save them; But it was Your right hand, Your arm, and the light of Your countenance, Because You favoured them….” The message we get from favour comes out of verse 3 where we are told that Israel did not gain possession of the land by their own sword, their own arm, or their own right hand, but the fulfilment of the promise came to pass disqualifying, because of God’s favour. A problem can arise during a kai-ros of favour when victory has come if we begin to think it was our ability, our cunning, our strength, or our faith that brought it. We have to always remember that when victories come and adversity vanishes, it does so because of God’s favour, not because of our ability or anything that we have created. Favour brought victory. To think anything else is to start down a dangerous path of self-destruction. Every generation needs fathers and mothers in the faith that understand that principle and can impart it at the right moment to future generations as they rise into their calling. Certainly such a generation is being prepared in this hour to be advisors and counsellors in the decades ahead.

Lord, perfect the fruit of my lips, that I may offer to You effective praise and thanksgiving for every victory won since inception of this work and ministry. Your might and doings astound me, and your activity is a delight. I give you the glory. I repent in any way, any of your servants have shared your glory. I ask You for divine intervention and guidance as we advance according to the way that you command us to go. I thank You for the awesomeness of Your handiwork and the techniques that You have given to survive—to overcome emotional turmoil—and the ability to function in this world around us. Truly, this work can only be done by you. I plead the blood of Jesus over every vessel of honour to protect them in every situation.
