We Have The Privilege Of Walking It Out Like Jesus.
2 Samuel 7:18-24
In this passage in 2 Samuel 7, David sat pondering before the Lord saying, “Who am I, O
Lord God? And what is my house, that You have brought me this far?“ David marveled at the
goodness of God, and what David stated in verse 24 is worth remembering. “For You have
made Your people Israel Your very own people forever; and You, Lord, have become their
God.” This is the essence of the Davidic covenant. God says, ‘You are My people and I am
your God.’ Right here in this verse the Sons and Daughters are covenantally-secured! David
had a thorough awareness of this forever promise which resulted in great praise in his heart
for the truly remarkable thing that God had done in setting his Family apart for Himself. How
did David walk out his relationship with Father and his covenantal security? He did it relying
on his covenant. He did it with wholeheartedness as a mighty warrior for God! We have the
privilege of learning to walk like David! We have the privilege of walking it out like Jesus.
