There is no excuse for a maturing believer not to begin developing the faith for His
works. -1 Peter 1:17-21
Verses 17-21 say, “And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to
each one’s work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of your stay here in fear; knowing
that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless
conduct received by tradition from your father, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a
lamb without blemish and without spot. He indeed was foreordained before the foundation of
the world, but was manifest in these last times for you who through Him believe in God, who
raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.” Here
it is! We are told again that we are Blood-bought and this stance has a purpose and a benefit.
We are the fruit of being Blood-bought and that fruit is a pure heart and a full assurance of
faith. In other words, we can do what Jesus did and He Himself said that we, beyond that,
could do greater things. It is ordained that we do them. There is no excuse for a maturing
believer not to begin developing the faith for it. Jesus bought and paid for that, and He makes
it clear that it is available to be sealed in our hearts. That is a scriptural truth found numerous
times in the Bible. We cannot get away from it. That is the way it is, and it is time to say yes
and accept it and expect it!
