Noah\’s Failure.
Scripture: Genesis 11:1-8
And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech. And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there. And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for mortar. And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth. And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower which the children of men builded. And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another\’s speech. So the Lord scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.
Here—just two chapters after the account of the flood—we see that Noah\’s family, his sons, and their sons, are no longer pursuing Jehovah God. Instead, they are building themselves a tower to heaven. They are trying to erect their own system of religion and connecting with powers of the air.
PRAYER
The Home
Father, I thank You for blessing my home with all spiritual blessings in Christ Jesus.
Through skilful and godly wisdom is my house (my life, my home, my family) built, and by understanding it is established on a sound and good foundation. And by knowledge shall the chambers (of its every area) be filled with all precious and pleasant riches — great priceless treasure. This is the house of the uncompromisingly righteous, and it shall stand. Prosperity and welfare are in my house, in the name of Jesus.
My house is securely built — founded on revelation knowledge of Your Word, Father. Jesus is my Cornerstone, and He is Lord of my household. Whatever may be our task, we work at it heartily as something done for You, Lord, and not for men. We love each other with the God kind of love, dwelling in peace. My home is deposited into Your charge, entrusted to Your protection and care.
Father, as for me and my house, we shall serve the Lord, in Jesus’ name. Hallelujah!
