A Faithless Generation.
Scripture: Deuteronomy 32:19,20
And when the Lord saw it, he abhorred them, because of the provoking of his sons, and of his daughters. And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be: for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no faith.
Here the Lord is saying, \”When men do not live this lifestyle of faith and do not pass down this precious heritage of faith to their children, they are a disobedient, rebellious generation who is not going to enjoy the privileges that come from the faith life.\” There are many people who want the benefits of living by faith, but who don\’t want the discipline of the faith life. They want to reap the rewards, to receive all that God has promised them, but they don\’t want to make the commitment it takes to reap those rewards. One of those commitments is patience. Nothing happens overnight. Everything takes time. That\’s why the writer of Hebrews tells us that it is by faith and patience that we inherit the promises of God. (Heb. 6:12.)
The opposite of patience is impatience, and the opposite of faith is fear. Just as faith comes by hearing the Word of God (Rom. 10:17), so fear comes by hearing the word of Satan. Fear, like faith, is released by words and actions.
PRAYER.
Boldness
Father, in the name of Jesus, I am of good courage. I ask You to grant me all boldness that I might speak forth Your Word. I receive freedom of utterance that I may proclaim boldly the mystery of the good news of the Gospel — that I may declare it boldly as I ought to do.
Father, I believe I receive that boldness now in the name of Jesus. Therefore, I have boldness to enter into the Holy of Holies by the blood of Jesus. Because of my faith in Him, I dare to have the boldness (courage and confidence) of free access — an unreserved approach to You with freedom and without fear. I draw fearlessly, confidently, and boldly near to Your throne of grace where I receive mercy and find grace to help in good time for my every need. I am bold to pray. I come to the throne of God with my petitions and for others who do not know how to ascend to the throne.
In Jesus’ name, I am bold toward Satan, demons, evil spirits, sickness, disease, and poverty, for Jesus is the Head of all rule and authority — of every angelic principality and power. Disarming those who were ranged against us, Jesus made a bold display and public example of them, triumphing over them. I am bold to declare that Satan is a defeated foe. Let God arise and His enemies be scattered.
I take comfort and am encouraged. I confidently and boldly say, “The Lord is my Helper; I will not be seized with alarm — I will not fear or dread or be terrified. What can man do to me?” I dare to proclaim the Word toward heaven, toward hell, and toward earth. I am bold as a lion, for You, Father, made me the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. I am complete in Him! Praise the name of Jesus! Amen.
