When the Church is not doing its job, wrath and judgment can descend on the nation
rather quickly
Scripture: Numbers 1:49-53
There were two types of priests in the same family in the Old Testament. One of the things
we see about the Levites, who were the servants of Aaron, is that God strategically placed the
Levites for a purpose and gave them a specific assignment. Verse 52 says, “The children of
Israel shall pitch their tents, everyone by his own camp, everyone by his own standard, according to their
armies; but the Levites shall camp around the tabernacle of Testimony, that there may be no wrath on the
congregation of the children of Israel;….” So the Levites had the job of being a barrier between
God and the sin of the people. If they performed their job as a barrier there was no wrath or
judgment on the congregation. But what happened when the Levites did not perform their
service? Wrath and judgment came much more quickly on the congregation. When the
The church is not doing its job, wrath and judgment can descend on the nation rather
quickly. It’s obvious the Church has not been doing its job when we look at the kind of
leadership God has given us over the past few years. It has been a judgment on the
Church’s refusal to walk in its’ priesthood and now we see that judgment coming upon the
whole land. Until we’re willing to face our responsibility then we don’t really qualify to
move on with God to the answer our priesthood can bring.
PRAYER: That the church will arise to do her job as priests.
