Divine Help To Find Your Place and Benefits of Praying in Tongues.
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 12:28
Where do you fit in the plan of redemption laid out before the foundation of the world,
hidden in a mystery in the heart of God? Are you called to be an apostle, prophet, teacher,
evangelist, or pastor? Are you called to administer or to make millions to finance the Gospel?
As I said before, every believer, including you, fits somewhere in the eight operations of God
found in First Corinthians 12:28. But how will you know where you fit in? How will you
keep from being deceived by the enemy into trying to fill a place in the Body you are not
called to or are not yet prepared for?
That’s one of the reasons God gave us the foundational eighth operation, diversities of
tongues — to help us discover His perfect plan for our lives. Through the supernatural prayer
language given to us and prayed through us by the Holy Spirit, God imparts to our spirits the
mysteries hidden in Him throughout all the ages — Christ in us, the hope of glory (Col. 1:27).
Now, if God the Holy Spirit literally creates this language in our spirit, what kind of prayer
could it possibly be? What benefits could it possibly hold for us?
Although many diversifications of tongues occur as the Spirit wills, there are basic areas are
outlined in the Word:
- Tongues for personal edification (1 Cor. 14:4)
This is the supernatural language the Holy Spirit prays through us that we can use to
pray hour after hour as we desire. It accompanies the baptism in the Holy Spirit. - Tongues for interpretation (1 Cor. 14:5)
This manifestation of tongues is normally presented in a public assembly, accompanied by
interpretation by the same or another person. - Tongues of deep intercessional groanings (Rom. 8:26)
This diversification of tongues empowers the believers to stand in the gap for their own lives,
their families, their church, their city, their nation, etc. God may also call on them to
intercede for someone or for some situation that is totally unknown to them. - Tongues as sign to the unbeliever. 1 Cor 14:22, Acts 12:1-4
- Praying over Scriptures in Tongues. The Word of God begins to come alive as we
place our spirit, the “candle of the Lord” (Prov. 20:27), in the hands of the expert. - A Test of peace of disequilibrium-Something is out place?? When you check up down
inside you while praying in the spirit if you do not have peace then you know something is
not in place. Praying in tongues always affects us in a positive way. God says that it edifies us
(1 Cor. 14:4). In Jude 20, He says that it builds us up on our most holy faith. As we faithfully
spend time praying in tongues, our lives begin to be transformed.
PRAYER FOCUS If you are ready, it is time today to actually do that.
