The Lord Has Purposed It, And The Lord Will Do It, In Jesus Name!
-2 Samuel 7:25-29
In verses 25-29 we read, “Now, O Lord God, the word which You have spoken concerning
Your servant and concerning his house establish it forever and do as You have said. So let
Your name be magnified for ever, saying, ‘The Lord of hosts is the God over Israel.’ And let
the house of Your servant David be established before You.” David in effect says, ‘God, You
said it, now You do it!’ This prayer goes on to say in verse, “Now, therefore, let it please You
to bless the house of Your servant, that it may continue before You forever; for You, O Lord
God, have spoken it, and with Your blessing let the house of Your servant be blessed forever.”
The Lord has purposed it, and the Lord will do it, in Jesus name! That is the Covenant of
Sure, Mercy. It secured David’s future and it guarantees our anointing to build God’s
Kingdom. It is a powerful promise of the Lord to forgive our mistakes and cause our failures
to be turned into praises for Him. We are Blood-bought and covenantally-secure. These truths
are forever stamped within by the seal and guarantee of the Holy Spirit. Through the truths of
the Trinity, we are forever marked, men and women! What a great foundation!
