The-Lord-Will-Provide (Jehovah Jireh) and He still Provides for those Willing to Extend the Covenant to the Whole Earth- Genesis 22:13-18; Exodus 6:6b
Why are we so narrow minded? In Genesis 22:13-18, we see the full measure of the Abrahamic covenant that was birthed as a result of Abraham’s obedience. Abraham called the name of the place, Jehovah Jireh, The-Lord-Will-Provide. Verses 15-18 state, “Then the Angel of the Lord called to Abraham a second time out of heaven, and said: ‘By Myself I have sworn, says the Lord, because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son—blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will
multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies. In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.’” The standard had now been set forever. Because Abraham did not withhold his only son, God would send HisSon as the Ultimate Redeemer for us. There is nothing that the people groups of the world can be captured by that God is not willing to redeem usfrom because of the obedience of Abraham. Jesus became our Covenant Redeemer because of what He suffered in our behalf. God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son! Exodus 6:6b declares how God redeemed Israel from Egypt, “…and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and great judgments.”
- Praise the Lord for the promise of abundant life, for fruitfulness in the work of your hands, in your relationships, in your spiritual growth and endeavors during this season, which symbolizes these virtues. Proclaim Psalm 136
- Pray that the Lord will grant you the nature of the palm tree which remains lush and fruitful even in its old age. That which has depleted with regard to health, creativity, love growing cold, relationships, the work of your hands in every area of experience, will begin to take on this nature. Pray this for kingdom citizens Psalm 92:12-15
- Pray that you will also derive the characteristic of the date palm which thrives in the harshest desert conditions but still bears succulent fruit to an old age. Pray this for the family and Ekklesia especially at such a time when we are facing a rising level of persecution in various parts of the world.
