Scripture: Exodus 19:10
Sanctification was only the first part of the process of paying the priestly price. The second
part was to wash. Washing in the ancient Hebrew laundry method was to trample, tread,
bleach, or knead or beat until clean – usually in cold water. The washing process, therefore,
meant we would find ourselves with the promise of being “…the head and not the tail…”
while experiencing being under other people’s feet; whether financially, positionally,
spiritually, or physically. The apostles found themselves in that place in the first few chapters
of Acts. They had no positional authority in the church world of their day and yet they had all
the spiritual authority. To be washed by the Lord is to find yourself in a place where blows
come at you and you respond with grace, with the same heart Jesus responded when they
drove the nails in His hands: “Father, forgive them, they know not what they do.” Many
young people find it hard to be “washed” they are counting the days to becoming a millionaire,
banker, world commander, and apostle all in the same breath. To be a priest you have t be
washed!
Prayer: In John 18:36 Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world.” It is not of this cosmos,
not of this earthly order. He was saying that His Kingdom is of a different order, a different
government, a different dimension. It’s the government of Heaven. That is the government
that He ruled from—from the heavenly realm to this earthly realm. He received His orders
from there, not here. Pray that your life will not always be measured by carnal things. Some
say destiny is not destination, but I wonder if you are preparing to speak for God with
authority. Pray.
