God Can Bring Glory Out Of Our Adversity, If We Trust Him.

Scripture: First Corinthians 2:6, 7

In First Corinthians chapter 2:6-8 Paul outlines another foundational piece of this puzzle. He says, “However, we speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing.” He didn’t say, “…have come to nothing.” He said they “…are coming to nothing.” Many have taught that when Jesus said “It is finished” then that was the end. He made a show of principalities and powers and at that point He brought them to nothing. That may be true theoretically but it is not necessarily true practically. Paul is addressing the issue of how you bring a theoretical truth into reality and what it costs to do that. In verse 7 he says, “But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory,….” God can bring glory out of our adversity if we trust Him. The problem with trusting Him over this issue is sometimes the glory is for another generation and doesn’t manifest till after we are gone. Are we ready to trust Him all the way to the grave?
