In 2 Samuel 7:12-17 the Lord goes on to say, “When your days are fulfilled and you rest with your fathers, I will set up your seed after you, who will come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build a house for My name, and I will establish the Throne of his kingdom forever. I will be his Father, and he shall be My son. If he commits iniquity, I well chasten him with the rod of men and with the blows of the sons of men. But My mercy shall not depart from Him, as I took it from Saul, whom I removed from before you.” ‘No more failures that cost you permanently. I am delivering you from that. The redemption of the Lord is complete.’ He goes on to promise David in this covenant, ‘My mercy will not depart from you or your son as I took it away from Saul, the one who I removed from before you. You do not have to worry about that. I am going to deal with you when you stumble. I will convict you; I will turn you around, I will turn you around and I will restore you. Pray that you will enjoy the mercy of God and not abuse that mercy. This covenant is all encompassing, and you can rely on it!’ That is why the covenant of Sure Mercy is a foundation for not only the priestly but also for the kingly. When our roots are firmly established in the mercy of God, the same mercy that delivers us from sin promises us to destroy an unrelenting enemy and if they will not relent, God will put them in the grave. It is the same covenant, and it is a two-edged sword. It is the foundation for walking with the Lord in the last days. It is our Biblical foundation for faith to walk in the priestly and in the judicial with the Kingly Christ.
- Read Isaiah 60:18; Command the borders of your territory to reject every whisper of violence or destruction in this season. Let every perpetrator of violence at any level be exposed and severely judged.
- Command the walls of every government building to allow only that which will bring redemption and salvation to the nation.
- Command every gateway of government to allow only that which is praiseworthy in this season of divine governance.
