- In these days of prosperity gospel and a desire to amass only the physical temporal things of the earth, the church is gradually forgetting the eschatological gospel. Less is spoken about the great day of the Lord. Little is said about yearning for spiritual, permanent things unless they can bring physical blessings e.g. gift of miracles, prophetic gifts that are used to prophesy the acquisition of choice positions and possessions etc.
- Ask the Lord to reveal to you and to the church at large, the reality of the return of Christ (Matt 16:27, 1Cor 16:22, Rev 22:7,12)
- Ask for a desire to yearn for the coming of the Lord. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you lead a life that reflects that there is a permanent, everlasting future beyond the world we have today even though everything, especially the new age teachings numb the mind into thinking that everything ends with the human race on this earth. (Rev 22:17,20)
