Seated With Him Above Read-Eph. 2:1-4:
We may consider ourselves to be good people, but even the best people on earth are still motivated by selfish interests until they are born again in Christ. Even if we are religious it will be for selfish gain, to appear as righteous to others, or for the good of man from an earthly perspective rather than a heavenly one. When we are still in our trespasses we may not be able to see such evil motives in ourselves, but when we are born again we can assert with Rom 3:10-12: There is none righteous, not even one. There is none who understands, there is none who seeks for God; All have turned aside, together they have become useless; There is none who does good. There is not even one.
We affirm therefore that we are no better than anyone else—we have simply found mercy. It is the realization of the great mercy of God that causes us to marvel at His goodness, and for which we cannot help but love Him. It is by this love that the goodness in Him begins to grow in us. Even so, as the apostle Paul was so wise to convey in all of his writings, it is a good thing to continually be reminded of where we came from, and how great His mercy is toward us. We walked according to the “prince of the air.” Before Christ intervened in our lives, we all walked according to the ways of this world—the ways of “the prince of the air,” which is Satan. Because he is not omnipresent, he does his work through other evil spirits that operate on a regional basis called principalities. This refers to them as the principle influence over a region.
- Many in the Body of Messiah have lost focus of the reality of operating with eternity in view.
- Ask the Holy Spirit to help you in this season, to constantly remember that everything you say and do should count for eternity. Pray this for kingdom citizens everywhere.
- Pray that the Holy Spirit will lead as many kingdom citizens as seek Him into this straight and narrow lifestyle that leads to kingdom authority in life
