The Davidic Covenant Secures Kingdom Access To God’s Ministers!

Why is 2 Samuel 7 so important? It is key because it marks the addition of the Davidic
covenant to the Abrahamic covenant. Israel was eventually delivered from Egypt based on
the Abrahamic covenant. The Davidic covenant secures Kingdom access to God’s ministers!
In the Davidic covenant, David wanted to build God a house. In 2 Samuel 7:11, we find that
God committed to building David a house! This verse says, “Since the time that I commanded
judges to be over My people Israel, And have caused you to rest from all your enemies. Also,
the Lord tells you that He will make you a house.” In the Davidic covenant, it was God
covenanting to build David a house and that house is His church. If we are all ministers in
this covenant, it is because the Davidic Covenant makes us ministers of the Most High God
with a purpose—to build eternal beings into the fullness of Christ!
