Prepare The Nations: For Judgement or Justification..
Scripture: Amos 4:1-8
Amos 4:1-3 states, “Hear this word, you cows of Bashan, who are on the mountain of Samaria, Who oppress the poor, Who crush the needy, Who says to your husbands, ‘Bring wine, let us drink?’ The Lord God has sworn by His holiness; ‘Behold, the days shall come upon you when He will take you away with fishhooks, And your posterity with fishhooks, You will go out through broken walls, Each one straight ahead of her, And you will be cast into Harmon,’ Says the Lord.” Amos 4 gives us a picture of how God works and how He operates. He says, “I will take the wicked away from among you.” In verses 12 and 13 we are told, “’Therefore thus will I do to you, O Israel; Because I will do this to you, Prepare to meet your God, O Israel!’ For behold, He who forms mountains, And creates the wind, Who declares to man what his thought is, And makes the morning darkness, Who treads the high places of the earth— The Lord God of hosts is His name.” God says to people in a generation, “You had better prepare to meet Me.” He then creates the disaster that forces them into that place where they must make a choice. They must either choose Him or choose to work against Him. Unfortunately for us it appears that many nations consistently have chosen to walk against Him. It is time the unrepentant leaders of wayward nations see the Creator who is the Judge of all the Earth and who has a special, creative judgment with their name on it.
Prayer….
- We must pray and get rid of certain things that are inflicted by familiar spirits:
- Throne-takers; rest robbers and destiny robbers. They stop you from enjoying the rest of God by getting you to strive and struggle in your own strength, whereas Jesus said “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest” (Matt 11:28). For example:
7. Anxiety, worry: Those are just another manifestation of fear. They will seek to take your eyes off your destiny and fasten them onto short term difficulties in order to keep you from being effective.
